National Business Awards as well as Product Awards. Its primary product lines include electrical accessories, switches and switch panels, LED taillights and third brake lights. Their extensive line of Billet Power Window Switches is unmatched in the industry. Many of their original, unique products, both by function or looks, have now been copied by other companies - a testament to the appeal of StreetWorks’ original creativity. Having ideas is wonderful. Being able to have them first and then bringing those ideas to market as quality functional products is fantastic and rare. That is Watson’s StreetWorks’ strength. That strength comes from the people who make it happen - the same people who assemble the parts and answer the phone when you call - with ideas, knowledge and friendship.

Watson’s StreetWorks

Rod & Custom Products was founded January 6, 1988 with just 2 products and has grown to be one of the most respected companies in the Street Rod and Custom Car Industry. It has won both

Carol is a Connecticut native, although she swears her heart belongs in several other states out west. She was raised in Norwich, CT, and obtained an Associates Degree in Business from Central Connecticut State University.

In 1973 she was hired by United Nuclear Corporation in Uncasville, CT, a manufacturer of Naval nuclear reactors. At UNC, Carol took on increasing technical responsibilities and more college courses at night until she gained her Bachelors Degree from the University of Connecticut. Before she left UNC and joined StreetWorks full time,

Carol was a Senior Process Engineer covering the processing of nuclear reactor clusters. Her 18-1/2 years of experience at UNC ingrained the importance of quality control systems, procedures, and manufacturing processes - significant experience and skills that she brings to StreetWorks to assure you get the best street rod and custom parts possible.

On a personal level, Carol enjoys outdoor activities such as golf, hiking and creative yard landscaping. She's a regular at World gym, loves to read, and is an artist and writer.

Published for a technical article while working at UNC, Carol has also written a book, a remembrance about her late mother, available on www.marketsunltd.com. As an artist, Carol's first exhibited piece gained an Honorable Mention in the Mystic Art Association Members Show 2002. Her love of feathers and horses is evident in her artwork which can be viewed at www.carolawatson.com.

At StreetWorks, Carol is the Marketing "guru" and personally creates all of the magazine ads and product news releases. She handles many of the non-daily office tasks and oversees operations in general to assure that quality products, service and a high reputation are guaranteed.

Steve is a native of Indiana and earned a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from DePauw University and a Bachelors in Engineering Sciences (part of the school of Aeronautics and Astronautics) at Purdue University. and Vendor Quality Assurance. (Steve's very first visit to York, PA, didn't involve street rods - he spent three days inside a nuclear reactor core barrel!) When he left UNC, Steve was a Senior Engineering Specialist. But his greatest accomplishment while at UNC was to meet Carol. They were married in 1975.

Steve's next corporate job was in R & D for the Thermos Company. While there he helped to revamp the manufacturing process for their stainless steel vacuum bottles and incorporate numerous quality checks. He personally designed their Flip 'n' Pour stopper for steel bottles as well as doing the technical design of their 50 ounce coffee carafe. In 1988 Thermos merged with a sister division and moved, Steve started his own business, then called Street Car Works. After too many questions about selling streetcars to San Francisco, the name was shortened to StreetWorks and recently expanded to Watson's StreetWorks to distinguish it from other companies with similar names.

Personal interests include cars, golf, hiking, art and writing. Current writing projects include two children's books and 2 suspense novels.

Completed art works in graphite have been displayed at the Mystic Art association and Steve hopes to enter works in various shows as well as establish a portfolio of works for the new art web site. Steve has also taught art classes in local school systems and math and physics classes through the local Technical/Community College.

At StreetWorks, Steve is the engineering product design/development guy and trouble shooter. Each year the catalog is his "baby" along with most of the products in it, their instructions, the Basic Auto Electricity Book and more!

As a team, Carol & Steve have been married over 34 years. They have designed and built a house and addition, did 95% of the work on their own street rod, and continue to build one of the most respected companies in the street rod industry -
